The reconstruction of the Lopshorn hunting lodge and the revitalisation of the oldest stud in Germany are ambitious projects which will bring a valuable piece of the history of the Lippe region back to life and open it up for all to experience.

The initiative "Reconstructing the Lopshorn Lodge" was established as a charitable limited company in May 2003. The royal house of Lippe stated explicitly at the time that no private claims of ownership exist and that none would be lodged in future.

The partners in the initiative are proprietors of well-known medium-sized enterprises in the region, Prince Stephan zur Lippe, the Paderborn graphic designer and artist Manfred Claes-Schaefers, the lawyer Peter Hufendiek, until 2004 mayor of Augustdorf, Dipl.-Ing. Helmut Adam as proprietor of a highly regarded surveyor’s office and Klaus Cieciera, independent management consultant with 30 years banking practice, as managing director. Mr Cieciera has already gained valuable experience implementing the Detmold Summer Theatre and since the beginning of 2008 has found, in our initiative, a new challenge.

Numerous friends and sponsors are already committed to the project in various ways. The aim is to constantly expand this circle and keep the idea alive.

We are looking for people who still believe in visions, and with their personal and/or financial commitment ensure they become reality. Donations are, by the way, tax deductible under the German Fiscal Code.

Simply contact us. You will be kept up to date on the status of the project and will be invited to attend meetings of the “Wiederaufbau Schloss Lopshorn” (Rebuilding of Castle Lopshorn) support group. At these meetings you will be able to actively bring your ideas and suggestions to bear and thus exercise a considerable amount of social responsibility.
